Beloved former resident dies in tragic collision
The community and family are mourning the sudden passing of beloved Louise Maria Stoltz, following a collision on OR Tambo Street.
Louise Maria 66, succumbed to her injuries following the collision, which occurred just after 2:00 pm on 25 October 2026.
She was on her way to a church function with a friend, Sakkie Oberholzer, when the collision occurred at the intersection on OR Tambo Street.
She was a former resident of Witbank and had lived here since 1970.
“She was loving and spontaneous, and a true people person. She took a genuine interest in everyone’s stories and always had time for a chat whenever her path crossed with someone’s. She also loved gardening and had a green thumb; her plants and flowers were always a beautiful sight. Her warmth, care, and kindness leave a deep void. We will miss her immensely,” said Janse van Rensburg.
The family thanks everyone who provided assistance at the scene of the collision and also at the hospital.
“To everyone who sent messages and calls, prayed for us, and offered their support β thank you very much. We would also like to thank Marinda Luus, manager at the Moth Retirement Village, and her staff for their help during this time. Your care, quick action, and kindness mean more to our family than words can ever say. Thank you so much from the bottom of our hearts.”
She is survived by her daughter, Adrie Janse van Rensburg, her son, Piet Stoltz, and two grandchildren.
