Take the following to the Police station to aid the investigation:
The missing person’s full name, age, ID number
A recent photograph and physical description (height, hair color, eye color)
Any identifying features such as scars or tattoos
Details of the clothes they were last wearing
The date, time, and location where they were last seen
Once the SAPS 55(A) form is filed, the investigating officer will provide you with a case number. It is important to obtain the investigating detective’s contact details and keep them updated on any new developments.
NB: If the missing person returns or is found, you must notify the investigating officer immediately to complete a SAPS 92 form and remove them from circulation
