Fundraiser Golf day – Gereformeerde Kerk Hoëveld
The Gereformeerde Kerk Hoëveld Golf Day, now celebrating its second year, successfully brought together golfers and sponsors to support meaningful community care and outreach work.
On October 2, golf enthusiasts from across South Africa came together at the Witbank Golf Club for this special fundraising event, which aims to help vulnerable members of the community.
Organisers have been thrilled with the event’s progress, noting impressive growth in participation from various areas, and surrounding regions.
The golf day was created with a clear purpose: to generate funds for organisations and initiatives dedicated to caring for and assisting those facing hardship. Key beneficiaries include SAVF Immergroen, a facility providing care for elderly residents, and the tunnel project at Huis Betsie Louw.
The funds collected will go towards supporting these institutions and other community-focused projects aimed at enhancing the wellbeing of pensioners and vulnerable individuals.
Louisa Jansen van Vuuren, representing the Gereformeerde Kerk Hoëveld, emphasised that this initiative extends beyond simple fundraising.
“Our goal is to strengthen community partnerships and deliver genuine assistance exactly where it’s most needed for our pensioners,” she explained.
She highlighted that Immergroen urgently requires a backup generator to address ongoing electricity supply challenges.
She also noted that the golf day serves as a wonderful platform for businesses, community members and organisations to collaborate meaningfully while making a real difference for those requiring support.
She warmly acknowledged the generous backing the event has enjoyed since its introduction the previous year.
