Industrial Park Perimeter Breach and Assault

An active multi-jurisdictional crime investigation was opened following an armed assault and heavy-duty cable theft operation at the heavy industrial corridor near Klarinet on the 27 March 2026, that left a private security guard severely injured 

A heavily armed gang using cloned commercial flatbed trucks breached a secured industrial storage yard under the cover of darkness. When confronted, the perpetrators opened fire, injuring a guard before stripping thousands of meters of vital industrial copper lines.

The Urgent Appeal for Witnesses
Detectives handling the active docket have made an urgent public appeal for witnesses who may have crucial pieces of the puzzle:

Night Shift Commuters & Truck Drivers: Anyone who observed heavy commercial flatbed trucks or unmarked white utility bakkies parked or moving unusually along the regional access roads between midnight and 04:00.

Security & CCTV Footage: Local businesses, plots, and homeowners residing along the transport corridors are requested to check exterior security cameras for matching vehicle profiles or suspicious convoys.

Police have emphasized that all witness testimonies and tip-offs submitted via local community crime watch networks or directly to the Witbank SAPS station commander are handled with strict confidentiality to ensure absolute witness protection.
