SPCA longest-serving Residents desperately waiting for Love

The SPCA has four amazing residents that have long been waiting for a family that will love them.

Liquorice, Stewart, Grizzly, and Saartjie are eagerly waiting for homes they can call their own.

Liquorice; when you approach his cage, he first studies you intently; then his tail begins to wag, and his beautiful blue eyes plead with you to take him home.

Stewart, a Rhodesian Ridgeback cross of about five years old, encountered the ugly side of life when he was neutered by someone lacking the proper knowledge. He was wandering in the veld before the SPCA picked him up and took him to a veterinarian for treatment. He walks with a slight limp, and Van Rooyen suspects his leg was previously broken.

Grizzly, approximately 18 months old, was found in Ackerville after two pit bull terriers had been set upon him. He has since made a good recovery.

Saartjie was found in Steenkamp Street with various objects in her stomach that had caused a blockage, and she was severely malnourished. Dr. Nolan Landman had to perform emergency surgery to remove the blockage. Today, Saartjie struts about like a true diva, sporting a pink bow around her neck in the hope that someone will notice her.
