Tragic N4 Highway Collision Claims Lives of Local Brothers

Two local brothers, Marco and Ruan van der Merwe, lost their lives in a devastating high-impact motor vehicle collision along the N4 transport corridor.

According to reports from Witbank News and local emergency response teams, on 26 March 2026 in the late afternoon hours, the two brothers were travelling along the N4 near Witbank when their vehicle was involved in a severe collision. Due to the high-velocity impact, both sustained fatal injuries and were declared dead at the scene by paramedics.
